On the Saturday 10 September, as part of Southend's Twilight Worlds, you are invited to join Maddi for a creative session on identity poems with a focus on erasure poetry.
On the Saturday 10 September as part of Southend's Twilight Worlds, you are invited to join Maddi for a creative session on identity poems with a focus on erasure poetry. You will learn how to sculpt new pieces of poetry from existing text, as well as creative tools to express the facets of your identity through poetry. The workshop will end with an optional sharing round circle, where you will be invited to showcase your work with the group in a supportive environment. This workshop will last approximately 2 hours.

Maddi Crease is a poet and artist from Southend-on-Sea. She works often on themes of mental health, as well as identity and its many nuances. Crease hosts The Listening Room at Leigh Community Centre on the second Wednesday of every month. She has previously been commissioned by BBC New Creatives, and was a participant of Apples and Snakes' 2021 Writing Room.
